We are very excited to be launching our first aesthetic clinic next week, including semi permanent make up, skin peels and lots more at The Topiary. In this blog I’m going to give you the low down on what you can expect from our semi permanent make up technician, Francesca.
Francesca Coady, From Surrey, is a highly skilled Semi Permanent Makeup Technician, having completed a Diploma of Excellence with Finishing Touches, the market leaders in Cosmetic and Paramedical fields of Micro-pigmentation. Her attention to detail is second to none, which is why we have asked her to join our team at The Topiary.
Permanent makeup, also known as micro-pigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, is a process of implanting pigment into the skin to create a semi permanent result. The results can be subtle and natural looking to very dramatic depending on your personal requirements. Micro-pigmentation is provided for a wide range of reasons from the medical treatments right through to the cosmetic treatments, but the most requested procedures are eyelash enhancements, eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, lip blush and full colour lips. Francesca has a full range of colours which can be mixed to produce the perfect treatment results for you.
There are lots of people who are very self conscious about the way they look, spending hundreds on cosmetics. Eyebrows frame the window to your soul and if your brows don’t look quite right, the correct shape, too thin, patchy or wonky then it can change your entire face. In my opinion, the eyebrow treatment changed my life, that sounds really deep right? But my brows were “my thing”. The thing that got me down, I even got picked on, because they weren’t right. No one likes a “unnatural brow look” and this treatment solved my whole makeup dilemma. I could swim, go to the gym and best of all… wake up with eyebrows!! I was more confident and so much happier. Even people who think they don’t need this treatment have looked at Francesca’s portfolio and seen what a boost it can bring to a face, it can take years off. So the treatment itself, there is usually very little swelling as ultra fine needles are used and very advanced techniques. You will be able to continue as normal directly after treatment. The area to be treated is numbed with topical anaesthetic prior to treatment to minimise discomfort. Many clients feel nothing at all, some feel a slight prickly feeling but nothing more. The minimal discomfort is quickly forgotten once the finished results are seen. When I had my eyebrows treated it felt like a buzzing feeling and felt like I wanted to sneeze, but personally I didn’t find it painful at all. You need to allow 2 hours for your treatment; this will include a full consultation to discuss your exact requirements. If you are booking more than one treatment allow an extra hour per treatment. All clients are patch tested prior to any treatment being carried out. This will ensure your suitability for permanent makeup. This a simple process and is very similar to hair colour or eyelash dye patch test.
So cost, new eyebrow treatments are £300 and includes a top up treatment in 4-6 weeks. Brow retouch 12-18 months £150. Eyeliner treatments start at £195 and Lips £350. When I first had mine done 5 years ago I paid twice as much but seeing Francesca’s work, she is amazing and should be up there with the top technicians in Harley Street.
